Leaked specifications for Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 reveal a dramatically thinner design and built-in S Pen silo, addressing two of the biggest complaints about previous foldable phones. The device is reportedly just 9.8mm thick when folded.
The new form factor is made possible by Samsung's second-generation Ultra Thin Glass cover and a redesigned hinge mechanism that reduces the fold gap to nearly invisible levels. The inner display is expected to measure 7.8 inches with a 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Camera specifications suggest a significant upgrade, with a 200MP main sensor replacing the previous 50MP unit. Samsung is reportedly using AI-powered computational photography to deliver DSLR-quality photos from the foldable form factor.
The device will launch with Samsung's new Exynos 2600 chip in select markets and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in North America. Battery capacity is rumored at 5,200mAh with 65W wired and 15W wireless charging.
Pricing is expected to start at $1,699, a slight decrease from the Fold 6 launch price, as Samsung aims to make foldables more mainstream. The official announcement is anticipated at Samsung's July Unpacked event.
