A large-scale study conducted across dozens of software development teams has found that AI-powered code review tools reduce the incidence of production bugs by an average of 35 percent. The tools automatically flag potential issues before code is merged into main branches.

The research, which tracked over 50,000 pull requests across six months, found that AI reviewers were particularly effective at catching security vulnerabilities, race conditions, and memory leaks that human reviewers frequently missed.

Development team leads report that the tools have also reduced the time spent on code reviews by approximately 40 percent, allowing engineers to focus more on feature development and architectural improvements.
